Which Details can be used in Concrete Structures?

The Carabanchel Housing designed by Dosmasuno Architects is located in Madrid, Spain. The Programme consists of 52 single dwellings, 35 double dwellings, 15 triple dwellings, 104 parking slots and commercial space.

The dwellings are designed from an invariable core with a modulated addition which completes the requirements of the program. This fixed core is constructed attending to the surrounding views and sunlight, and its two main pieces, living and sleeping rooms, are stacked to the south limit, from which they are protected with a filter, relegating a services strip to the back side.

The structure is made by Modular Casting System. This project has been built using industrialized technology similar to that used in automobile production. It introduces an important innovation into the construction process by fabricating the formwork of a single high accuracy aluminum cast into concrete. This makes the individual formwork parts much lighter and enables workers to safely manipulate them without additional cranes. This industrialized system facilitates the constructive process, avoiding rubbish and accelerating the implementation times.
